BMW Automotive Technician

Automotive Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. As a Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles according to company standards. Your expertise in automotive technology and mechanics will be crucial in ensuring the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles.

Position Reports To: Shop Foreman, Service Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on BMW vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic and mechanical issues with BMW vehicles.
  • Conduct vehicle diagnostics using troubleshooting equipment, techniques, and test drives.
  • Identify and document repair and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide accurate estimates of repair time and costs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area with extreme attention to detail.
  • Manage time effectively to increase productivity.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in BMW technology and repair techniques.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality repairs and exceptional customer service.
  • Clearly document repairs needed, work performed, and conditions that could not be duplicated on the repair order.
  • Consult with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager on all no problem found (NPF) situations.
  • Meet or exceed the dealership’s requirements for technician efficiency, productivity, and proficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Certification as an Automotive Technician by ASE standards.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, preferably specializing in BMW vehicles.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive technology and diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and utilizing technical specifications and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and agility to operate in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to stand for more than 6 hours a day.
